An Establishment Statement

이러한 대한민국의 놀라운 발전은 우리의 노력만 가지고 된 것이 아님을 우리는 잘 알고 있습니다. 여기에는 나라를 독립시키려고 목숨을 아끼지 않고 투쟁한 독립투사들과 6.25 전쟁 당시 직접 참전한 16개국과 46개의 의료 및 원조 지원국 그리고 목숨 바쳐 나라를 위해 싸운 국군 장병들과 후손에게 가난만은 물려주지 않고자 불굴의 의지를 갖추고 땀과 눈물로 밤낮없이 일해온 우리의 할아버지, 할머니, 아버지, 어머니들이 있었기 때문에 가능했습니다.

 특히, 분단된 작은 영토와 자원이 충분하지 않았던 대한민국에는 수출만이 먹고 살 길이었습니다. 이런 상황에서 1975년을 시작으로 80, 90년대 세계를 누비며 대한민국의 수출입 선봉에 섰던 기업들이 있었습니다. 바로 종합상사였습니다. "바늘부터 미사일에 이르기까지 무엇이든지 거래한다"라는 종합상사는 새로운 시장 개척과 고객 확보를 위해 전 세계를 누비는 개척자였고 불모지였던 한국의 수출 시장을 이끌어 온 주역이나 마찬가지였습니다.

In particular, export was the only way to survive in Korea, which was divided into a small territory and lacked sufficient resources. In this situation, starting in 1975, there were companies that stood at the forefront of Korea's import and export, traveling the world in the 1980s and 1990s. It was a general manager. The general trading company, which said, "We deal in everything from needles to missiles," was a pioneer traveling around the world to develop new markets and secure customers, and was a leading player in Korea's barren export market.

대한민국의 성공 비결은 바로 이런 성공 의지와 개척정신이었습니다.

The secret to Korea's success was this will to succeed and pioneering spirit.

하지만, 우리는 지금 여기서 만족할 수는 없습니다. 우리의 좁은 영토를 극복해야 하고, 좁은 내수 시장의 한계를 뛰어넘어야 하고, 더욱더 치열해지는 국가 간의 경쟁에서 살아남아야 합니다.

However, we cannot be satisfied here and now. We have to overcome our narrow territory, overcome the limits of our narrow domestic market, and survive in increasingly fierce competition between countries.

이에, 한국센터글로벌네트워크는 한국인의 성공 의지와 불굴의 개척정신을 한국학에 담아 전 세계에 전파하는 종합상사가 되어 2030년까지 10여 개국에 30여 곳의 교육 기관과 함께 80여 개의 한국센터를 설치하여 4대 영역, 8대 중점 사업을 통해 강대국의 최소(Least of the great powers)의 문턱에 서 있는 대한민국이 소프트파워 강대국이 되어 정치적, 경제적, 문화적으로 상생의 선한 영향력을 끼치는 세계의 지도자가 되는데 이바지할 것입니다.

Accordingly, the Korean Center Global Network will establish 80 Korean centers with 30 educational institutions in more than 10 countries by 2030, contributing to Korea becoming a soft power power and a world leader with good political, economic, and cultural influence.
